Job purpose

As a National Service Personnel within our Strategy and Transactions team, you will work on various Strategy and Transactions engagements in different industry sectors in which EY is acknowledged as a market leader, specifically: financial services, energy & utilities, oil & gas, mining & metals, telecommunications, industrial products, automotive, retail and consumer products, real estate, etc.

 

Your client responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of strategic plans for clients, including market entry strategies, growth plans and operational improvements.
  • Participating in client meetings and workshops to understand their strategic objectives and to provide relevant insights and analysis.
  • Preparing presentations, information memoranda and other transaction-related documents for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the coordination of transaction processes, including communication with clients, legal advisors and other professionals involved in the deal.
  • Assisting in the due diligence process by collecting, organizing and analysing financial and operational data from target companies.
  • Supporting the team in identifying risks and opportunities associated with potential transactions.
  • Conducting research on industry trends, market conditions and competitive landscapes to inform transaction strategies.
  • Gathering data from various sources to create industry reports that help in understanding the market dynamics relevant to client projects.
  • Assisting in the analysis of financial statements and the preparation of financial metrics to support valuation and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Final-year university student from a recognised tertiary institution, pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Expected CGPA of a Second Class Upper or better
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (other language is a plus)
  • Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • A student member or affiliate of the ICAG/ACCA/CIMA OR a high motivation and drive to pursue a professional accountant qualification.
    Membership of ICAG/ACCA/CIMA is an advantage.
