Position Overview: As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, and other stakeholders to resolve any billing issues and improve cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Process accounts receivable for all business units and prepare in-house reports on the same.
- Generate AR reporting specifically for the Tax Service Line to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Schedule accounts receivable withholding tax (WHT) for onward filing at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
- Reconcile unidentified cash receipts in the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up with clients to ensure timely collection.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and client communications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
- Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status and cash flow projections.
- Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Completion of a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICA, ACCA, CPA).
- At least 3 years of working experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
