The opportunity

You will be a professional member of our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. In Japan, our FAAS team consists around 200 dedicated financial reporting and accounting advisory professionals. We combine technical accounting skills in IFRS, Japan and US GAAP, practical experience in financial reporting processes as well as deep sector and regulatory knowledge.

In particular, you will be part of the transactions team in FAAS focusing on cross-border transactions and US listings. This is a challenging role working with some of the world's largest companies and offers an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to the dynamic world of international capital markets. The opportunity to join the team is therefore one for whom only the highest performers will qualify.

Your key responsibilities

•Lead teams on cross-border transactions projects, involving IPOs, M&As, and also support with SEC filings
•Deliver technical accounting advice under both US-GAAP and IFRS across wide range of client sectors
•Researching application of accounting standards, review financial and governance processes, accounting framework transition, comparison of different company practices, and develop and provide tailored training
•Prepare proposals and take part in business development activities to expand the practice
•Develop and coach junior staff and seniors with a mind for inclusive and diversity
•Establish and maintain relationship with client management
•Maintain cooperative relationships and foster mutual support with other EY service lines

 

To qualify for the role you must have

•At least 8 years of relevant experience along with a US CPA designation
•Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
•Experience with cross-border transaction, and sound knowledge of SEC reporting
•Experience and knowledge of PCAOB audit is highly value
•Strong communication and project management skills
•A dedication to teamwork and leadership
•Ability to speak, read, and write in Japanese is preferred
